Giorgi Jinchara­dze Meets with the Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic

Giorgi Jinchara­dze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, held a meeting with Maria Theodorou, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hellenic Republic to Georgia.

During this introductory meeting, Giorgi Jinchara­dze expressed sincere appreciation to the Ambassador for Greece’s steadfast support of Georgia’s territorial integrity and its unwavering adherence to the policy of non-recognition of Georgia’s occupied regions. He also emphasized Georgia’s gratitude for Greece’s consistent backing of UN resolutions that affirm Georgia’s sovereignty.

The Chairman of the Government provided the Ambassador with an overview of the Government of Abkhazia’s current activities and briefed her on the situation in the occupied region of Abkhazia. Special attention was given to the humanitarian challenges facing the local population.

The discussion also explored potential avenues for future cooperation aimed at supporting internally displaced persons from Abkhazia.

The Awards Ceremony for the 2025 Winners of the Alexander (Sasha) Berulava Prize for Journalism was Held

With the support of the Government of Abkhazia and the initiative of the Information and Analytical Center of Abkhazia, the awards ceremony for the winners of the journalistic prize named after the famous journalist and the first director of Georgian television in Abkhazia, Alexander (Sasha) Berulava, took place.

The winners of the 2025 Journalistic Prize were selected by a special competition commission in three categories.

In the nomination "Report or Multimedia Work on Abkhazia in Broadcast or Electronic Media," the prize was awarded to Tamar Oqujava for her work "Abkhazia in Georgian Cinema." In the nomination "Best Article in Print or Electronic Media," the winner was Tamuna Gazdeliani for her work "When I Set Foot in My Yard in Gagra, That Will Be the End of the Displacement." In the nomination "For Journalistic Activity," the award was given to Shukhri Dgebuadze.

The award winners were presented with their prizes by Giorgi Jintcharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, Jemal Gamakharia, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Abkhazia, and Eliso Khutkubia, Head of the Information Service of the Information and Analytical Center of Abkhazia.

The event was attended by Giorgi Volski, First Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia and Chairperson of the Temporary Parliamentary Commission on Restoration of Territorial Integrity and De-occupation, as well as representatives from the Georgian legislative and executive authorities and the diplomatic corps.

Alexander Berulava was one of the founders of Georgian television in Abkhazia and made a significant contribution to the development of Georgian journalism. He worked in the press for many years and was the Head of the Press Service of the Council of Ministers of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia.

Alexander Berulava was murdered by Abkhaz militants and North Caucasian volunteers along with Zhiuli Shartava and members of the Council of Ministers on the day of the fall of Sokhumi.

Alexander (Sasha) Berulava Prize for Journalism is held annually, with the aim of promoting the discourse surrounding Abkhazia in the media.

Giorgi Jintcharadze Meets with Giorgi Volski

Giorgi Jintcharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, held a working meeting with the First Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia and Chairman of the Temporary Parliamentary Commission on Restoration of Territorial Integrity and De-occupation, Giorgi Volski.

The discussion focused on key challenges related to the occupied territory of Abkhazia, the needs and priorities of internally displaced persons (IDPs), and the ongoing social and economic programs designed to address these issues.

Both sides placed particular emphasis on strengthening cooperation between the Government of Abkhazia and the Parliament of Georgia. The meeting also highlighted a number of initiatives aimed at supporting IDPs, fostering their social integration, and promoting sustainable development within affected communities.

In his remarks, Giorgi Jintcharadze expressed his gratitude to Giorgi Volski for his continued partnership and underscored that active collaboration with the central government is essential for advancing the processes of reconciliation and trust-building. Giorgi Jincharadze Congratulates Members of the Abkhazia Table Tennis Federation on Their International Achievement

Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, together with Beka Ghvachliani, Minister of Education and Culture, extended his congratulations to the young athletes of the Abkhazia Table Tennis Federation for their outstanding performance at an international tournament.

At the event, Anastasia Chkhartishvili claimed the gold medal and earned the title of champion in the under-19 category. Meanwhile, Elene Kobalia and Andria Chkhartishvili secured bronze medals in the under-12 and under-14 age groups, respectively.

In his remarks, Giorgi Jincharadze commended the dedication and perseverance of the young athletes, wishing them continued success in their future endeavors. Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic to Georgia, Massimiliano D’Antuono.

The meeting focused on the current situation in the occupied region of Abkhazia, including humanitarian and educational issues, as well as the systematic violations of fundamental human rights.

During the meeting, the Chairman of the Government provided an overview of the key priorities, ongoing initiatives, and future strategic vision of the Government of Abkhazia.

Financial Support for Veterans with Disabilities from Abkhazia, as Announced by Giorgi Jincharadze

In a recent decision, Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of Abkhazia, confirmed that IDP veterans with Group I disabilities will be provided with one-time financial assistance.

This announcement was made by Giorgi Jincharadze during a meeting held as part of a commemorative event dedicated to Veterans Day.

The Chairman of the Government thanked the veterans for their service to the homeland and emphasized that supporting them remains one of the Government of Abkhazia's priorities.

"Today, we met with IDP veterans from Abkhazia, and I expressed my gratitude for their dedication and sacrifices. These individuals have given so much to our country, and it is our collective responsibility to ensure their contributions are never forgotten. The Government of Abkhazia remains committed to offering them continuous support," said Giorgi Jincharadze.

The event was attended by Koba Kobaladze, Director of the State Service for Veterans Affairs, Anzor Margiani, Deputy Chairman of the Government of Abkhazia and Chairman of the Abkhazian Veterans Union, as well as other members of the Government of Abkhazia, representatives from the State Service for Veterans Affairs, and the Abkhazian Veterans Union.
